About Credit Resource Solutions
Credit Resource Solutions Limited, known as CRS and myCRS, is a debt collection agency at Dean Clough in Halifax. It has been trading since 2003 and is part of the Coeo group. Companies House has shown Coeo Group GmbH, a German company, as its controlling owner since June 2026. It is authorised by the FCA (FRN 626796).
CRS says it collects for clients in financial services, retail, energy, water, telecoms and other sectors, and that it also buys some debts and collects them for itself. Financial Ombudsman decisions show it collecting for buy now pay later lenders and short-term lenders, and its payment portals carry the names of insurers such as RSA and 1st Central.
A CRS letter, text or email is a request to pay or get in touch, not a court claim. Because CRS may either collect for someone else or own the debt itself, the first step is to ask in writing who owns it and what it is for. If an account escalates, CRS says it uses a single law firm, AJJB Law Limited, which it owns.

Your Rights
Proof of the debt and who owns it
You can ask CRS in writing to confirm the original creditor, what the debt is for, how the amount is made up and whether CRS owns the debt or collects it for someone else.
Consumer Credit Act 1974 (sections 77 and 78)
For credit agreements, you can ask for a copy of the agreement under section 77 (fixed-sum credit) or section 78 (running-account credit). While it is not provided, the agreement cannot be enforced.
Limitation Act 1980 (section 5)
Most consumer debts become statute-barred six years after your last payment or last written acknowledgement. A court claim on a statute-barred debt can be defended on that basis.
FCA Consumer Credit sourcebook (CONC 7)
CONC 7.9 bars unreasonable or oppressive contact, and CONC 7.14 requires collection to be suspended while a genuine dispute is investigated.
Complaints
CRS aims to resolve complaints within 3 business days, acknowledges them within 5 and sends a final response within 8 weeks (complaints@creditresourcesolutions.co.uk). You can then go to the Financial Ombudsman Service within 6 months of the final response.
Common Credit Resource Solutions Scenarios
A text or email from CRS about a debt you do not recognise
Do not pay or follow links until you have checked. Write to CRS asking it to name the creditor, show the account and the amount, and confirm whether it collects for that creditor or owns the debt. FCA rule CONC 7.14 says collection should be suspended while a genuine dispute is investigated.
A disputed balance
If you think the amount is wrong, say why in writing and send any proof of payments. In a 2025 decision (DRN-5346897) the Financial Ombudsman said CRS should have passed a balance dispute to the creditor to investigate.
A debt that may be statute-barred
Under section 5 of the Limitation Act 1980, most consumer debts become statute-barred six years after your last payment or last written acknowledgement, whichever is later. If that applies, say so in writing and do not pay or admit the debt before checking.
A Letter before Claim
Under the Pre-Action Protocol for Debt Claims, you have 30 days from the date at the top of the letter to reply using the reply form. You can dispute the debt, ask for documents, ask for time to get debt advice or offer a payment plan.
You are struggling to pay
Tell CRS in writing if you are struggling or your circumstances make things harder, and ask for time. A debt adviser can also apply for Breathing Space under the Debt Respite Scheme, which pauses most creditor action and interest for 60 days.
Repeated calls, texts or emails
Under FCA rule CONC 7.9 and section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, collectors must not contact you at unreasonable times or in a way that causes alarm or distress. You can ask in writing for contact by letter only.
