Universal Credit Has No Postal Address

GOV.UK gives no postal address for Universal Credit. You contact it through your online account, using your journal, or by phone on 0800 328 5644, Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.

If you complain about Universal Credit and are still unhappy after DWP's final response, you can write to the Independent Case Examiner, listed above.

Mandatory Reconsideration by Letter

If you disagree with a benefit decision, including a PIP decision, you can ask DWP to look at it again. This is called mandatory reconsideration, and you can ask by letter. GOV.UK gives no single address: send your letter to the address on your decision letter.

It usually needs to arrive within one month of the date on your decision letter. Include the date of the decision, your name and address, date of birth and National Insurance number, and which part of the decision you think is wrong and why. Write your full name, date of birth and National Insurance number at the top of each piece of evidence.

A late request can still be accepted if there is a good reason, such as being in hospital or a bereavement. Explain why it is late.

Complaining About DWP

Complain to the team you dealt with first. DWP aims to resolve complaints within 15 working days, but says it is receiving a high number of complaints, so it may take longer. You get a final response by phone or letter.

If you are still unhappy, you can go to the Independent Case Examiner within 6 months of DWP's final response. After that, your MP can refer your complaint to the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, within 12 months of the Independent Case Examiner's final response.
