About Rundles
Rundle & Co. Limited, known as Rundles, is a firm of enforcement agents registered at Companies House under company number 03231767. It asks customers to write to PO Box 11113, Market Harborough, LE16 0JF, and its registered office moved to 3rd Floor, 10 Lloyd's Avenue, London on 16 February 2026. It is accredited by the Enforcement Conduct Board.
Companies House shows Rundles has been owned by CDER Group UK Limited, the group formerly called JBW, since May 2019. Rundles says it was founded in 1992 and works for over 90 English authorities, collecting council tax, business rates, parking penalties, commercial rent arrears and other council debts.
A letter from Rundles usually means a council has passed your case to it to enforce. Bailiffs must follow strict rules on notice, fees, visiting times and what they can take. You can write to Rundles to pause enforcement if you are vulnerable, offer a payment plan, complain or challenge fees.

Your Rights with Bailiffs
Notice before a visit
For notices given from 1 May 2026, you must get at least 14 clear days' notice before goods are taken. If a debt advice provider asks before that period ends, it is extended to at least 28 clear days.
Fixed fees
For most debts, from 1 May 2026 the fees are £79 at the compliance stage, £247 plus 7.5% of the amount over £1,900 once an agent visits, and £116 plus 7.5% over £1,900 at the sale stage. High Court writs have their own scale.
Visiting hours and entry
Bailiffs cannot take control of goods before 6am or after 9pm. For most debts you do not have to let them in, and they cannot force their way in. Forced entry is only allowed in limited cases, such as some unpaid criminal fines.
What they cannot take
Items you need for your work up to £1,350 in total, and household essentials such as a cooker, fridge, washing machine and beds. They also cannot take goods that belong to someone else.
Children and vulnerable people
Bailiffs must not take control of goods if a child under 16 or a vulnerable person is the only person at home.
Common Situations
A Notice of Enforcement for council tax
This means the council has a liability order and has passed the debt to Rundles. For enforcement started on or after 1 May 2026, you must get at least 14 clear days before goods can be taken. Use that time to pay, offer an affordable plan or get free debt advice.
You read that you only have 7 days
Rundles' own FAQ page still mentions 7 clear days and a £75 fee. Those were the rules before 1 May 2026. For enforcement started on or after that date, you get at least 14 clear days and the compliance fee is £79. Check the date on your notice.
You cannot afford to pay in full
Offer an amount you can keep up, in writing, and ask Rundles not to visit while you keep to it. If it will not agree, ask it to pass your offer to the council.
You are vulnerable or struggling
Rundles says vulnerable customers are given a Welfare Manager. Write to welfare@rundles.org.uk, or to the Welfare Team at its PO Box, with evidence such as a letter from your GP.
Fees you think are wrong
The enforcement fee can only be charged once an agent has visited. Ask in writing for a breakdown of every fee, with the date and stage of each.
You have paid the council directly
Rundles says that if you pay its client directly, you are still liable for its fees. Tell Rundles in writing, with proof of payment, and ask it to confirm the balance.
Complaining About Rundles
You can complain to Rundles by email to complaints@rundles.org.uk, through the form on its contact page, by post, or by phone on 0800 081 6000 to ask for a call back. It acknowledges written complaints within 2 working days and aims to reply within 5 working days after that. If you are still unhappy, ask for a formal review within 10 working days, which its Customer Service Manager completes within 10 working days.
For events from 1 January 2025, you can then go to the Enforcement Conduct Board, within 1 month of Rundles' final response. For council debts, GOV.UK says you can also complain to the council and then the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman.
If You Are Struggling
Rundles says vulnerable customers are assigned a Welfare Manager. Contact welfare@rundles.org.uk or write to the Welfare Team, Rundle & Co Ltd, PO Box 11113, Market Harborough, LE16 0JF. It may ask for evidence such as a letter from your GP, a fit note or a certificate of benefits. If a free debt adviser asks before the notice period ends, the notice period is extended to at least 28 clear days.
